Vendor FAQ

Commonly Asked Questions & Their Answers

The 2026 Juneau Public Market will be held over Thanksgiving weekend, November 27th, 28th, and 29th, 2026. (Friday through Sunday).

  • Friday: 12 pm – 7 pm
  • Saturday & Sunday: 10 am – 5 pm

Vendors can set up as follows:

  • Wednesday (the day before Thanksgiving): 4 pm – 8 pm
  • Friday: 8 am – 12 pm (must be ready by noon)
  • Saturday & Sunday: vendors may access the buildings at 9 am, one hour before the public.

Vendors are expected to maintain their booths during public hours throughout the three days of the market: 12 pm – 7 pm on Friday, and to 10 am – 5 pm on Saturday and Sunday.

  • Before the event opens at noon Friday, all vendors are expected to collect their passes at the informational booth in Centennial Hall .
  • For Centennial Hall, vendors must get passes at the information booth during setup before the public hours. Each vendor gets three passes: one for the named contact and two for helpers. Additional passes can be purchased for $7.50 each.
  • JACC (Public Market Annex) vendors receive one courtesy pass for free entry to Centennial Hall. Extra passes are also available at the same cost.

You can apply at any time! Early applicants may get first-choice spaces, but even later applicants have a chance as spaces open up due to cancellations and re-assignments. It’s never too late to apply!

At Centennial Hall, preference is given to vendors selling unique, Public Market-only items. We also give preferences to those who present an aggressive social media plan to advertise their presence at the Juneau Public Market, as well as those who have plans for, or a record of presenting, a well-decorated display. For the JACC (Public Market Annex), spaces are assigned on a first-come, first-served basis.

If you want to change your booth location, you must make a payment for your current assignment to activate the reassignment process. Those who earnestly want a reassignment should make a payment immediately.

Franchise products like Mary Kay, doTerra, and Scentsy are allowed at JACC (Public Market Annex) but are limited to one vendor per product line. If you’re selling these types of items, the Annex is the best venue for you.

The standard booth sizes in the ballroom of Centennial Hall and the JACC are 8′ x 8′. All other spaces are sized individually. Tables available for rent are 6-foot long and either 18″ or 30″ wide.  Table costs and options are available on the “Floor Plans & Costs” page.

Yes, electricity is available for $15. You must request it in advance.

We encourage vendors to decorate their booths! During the vendor reception we host on Saturday after closing, we recognize the three best decorated booths and award cash prizes! We provide basic booth dividers, but vendors are encouraged to decorate with festive materials (especially lighting). You can decorate with holiday-themed wraps or fabrics, and lighting is especially encouraged—this year, the electricity cost is lowered to $15 to encourage more vibrant displays.

Vendors must register for sales tax with the City and Borough of Juneau. We pay sales tax on everything we sell to vendors, but vendors who provide a three-digit CBJ tax-exempt number will be exempt. For more details, visit the official CBJ sales tax registration page.

In early spring we contact all vendors from the previous year..  Typically, 70% of those vendors return. Soon after they are accommodated, we reach out to all others on our contact list. To get on this list, complete the online application. Upon receipt of the emailed invitation to apply, reply immediately and be sure to include at least three space location preferences. Assignments will be made in the form of invoices. Payment will secure your assignment.

If you’re not happy with your assigned space, you can request a reassignment. Only by making a payment for the space indicated on the invoice can you activate a reassignment request. The more compelling your case for reassignment (based on product uniqueness or promotional efforts), the more likely you are to secure a location of your preference.

If you need to withdraw, notify us by October 15 for a full and prompt refund. Refunds for withdrawals after October 15 are conditioned upon us being able to fill the vacated space.

If you’re on the waitlist, keep in touch with us regularly (about every week to ten days) to stay updated on available spots. There are often withdrawals that will open up space for you.

There are a few additional costs for items like electricity, table skirting, and other incidentals. See information about these charges on the invoice of your assigned space. If there’s a difference in the items ordered and those used, we will adjust the charges accordingly. All amounts due from the vendors, and refunds from us, will be settled by Saturday of the event.

We understand that sometimes plans change, but we recommend that you apply early and follow through on payment to secure your spot. If you’re unsure about deadlines, just reach out, and we’ll do our best to accommodate you.

No problem! After you apply, we will send you an invoice with a payment deadline. If you need extra time, just let us know. With former vendors we will work with you to establish a payment plan. New vendors must make a good faith (partial) payment to secure their assignments.
